Audio- Well, here we go- the searchers are not what they seemed, the Guardians are not what they seemed and the Keepers are really not what was told all these years. The truth is finally out, and it is an ugly dark one. One of the pack will become a traitor, breaking hearts. The searchers will lose someone dear, breaking more hearts. Everything is at stake, even the fragile love building between Cali and Shay.
Whirlwind story telling with one twisted cliffhanger, grrr. Can't wait for the next one !

Calla seems like kind of a crummy alpha.

Okay, to be honest, in this book Calla totally got on my nerves. Maybe it's because I am totally on TEAM REN. Or, maybe it's because she has lost her tough girl sass. I mean, come on! You act all tough and Alpha around Ren, and don't let him boss you around at all. But when it comes to Shay? Bring out the marshmallows people! Ugh. Seriously, if you had such an opinion on everything in the last book, what stopped you now? I just wished Calla would have been in command of her own decisions, and not let Shay open his big mouth all the time. Jeez. Okay, I am done ranting. Ha. I just hope she gets her head together in the next book. That is all for now! =)

I really like the SL of these books, the whole idea behind them is awesome, but the characters are so not engaging and the SL is pretty predictable. If you were surprised about Monroe, then you were not paying attention. Calla is cool because she's not the girl that needs to be saved. But I seriously hate Shay. Good thing this book was short, that's all I'm saying.

So, I mostly liked Nightshade, but there were a couple of things about it that bothered me. But I thought the writing was good, so I was very interested to pick up Wolfsbane.

What Andrea Cremer did here was take everything I disliked about Nightshade, multiplied it by 50, and made a book out if it, adding in some new annoyances while she was at it.

Calla really isn't a strong, admirable character anymore. She's an idiot that never learns any lessons from any of her life experiences. Shay is no longer a mildly annoying character who I didn't connect with. He's a misogynistic jerk that I hate, even though I can tell the author wants me to love and root for him. And she must have thought there were too many readers who liked Ren, and she's all "no, reader, that's not how you're supposed to feel about these characters--it's Shay you like, SHAY", so she tried to make sure of that by making Ren in his tiny, tiny bit of "screen time" into an even bigger jerk than Shay, if that's possible.

With all that said, I read this in a day, so it was a quick read and not a total waste, hence the two stars.

I think that the first 100 pages or so of this book were really slow and there were alot of new characters thrown in that was kind of overwhelming.

It takes Calla a long time to find her pack and I felt like she didn't really show enough affection towards them when she finally found them. She kind of just shrugged it off and went crawling back to Shay for more sex. (Which she shouldve been having with Ren)
Speaking of Ren.........We didn't even get him back........well shit. *Screams internally on the inside*

May I add Calla is really starting to piss me off and makes no sense what so ever, a really disappointing female lead lacking some common sense.

Still was a pretty good book and had a lot of great action scenes. The storyline has really started to get interesting and I can't wait to find out what happens in Bloodrose!

P.S. Why does every female protagonist I read have to cut their hair off? What's up with that?

Excellent installment - gripping, heartbreaking, interesting, tragic, eventful. I loved Connor and most of the new characters, and all the Searchers stuff was quite cool.

if you liked/loved the Immortal Intruments series by Cassandra Clare, you'll like/love all the action, humor, magic, and girls challenged with the dilemma of chosing between two very hot guys (poor things!).

It feels like this took a wildly different turn from the first book, which felt like a strong feminist narrative mixed with a religious deconstruction allegory.  But this has just slowed down so much and has become far more action packed and less about the allegorical narrative.  Not for me, I will not be continuing the series
