Another wonderful adventure in this world. I hope there will be another book but I have no idea what might happen in it.

Nice going with the robot, Chambers. Look at it, it's got anxiety! These books are salve for the soul, a cup of tea on a rainy day, and too easy to read in one sitting. I feel like I should savor it, but it's so short and inviting that I can devour it so quickly and then I'm sad it's over. The world building once again draws me in like no other, and I've begun to pick up on the casually accessible environments and communities.

Reread 3/7/24: It's so hard to spot loneliness in someone so well taken care of who connects with people regularly for their career. I can imagine how isolating it can be for Sibling Dex, and Leroy really highlights what I think they need. At the end Dex realizes they need more companionship to lean on and starts to really accept that from Mosscap.

Another remarkably comfortable read by Becky Chambers. A Prayer for the Crown-Shy’s exploration of gratitude for all the little things and of figuring out what it is you need is so important, and I love that it - and some philosophical points that Chambers loves to weave in to her books - was placed within this hug of a story. Just two of my favourite confused cinnamon rolls trying to figure out life while also admiring the world around them. I think everyone could use a little bit of Dex and Mosscap right now ❤️

This has all the same things I liked about the first book; the characters, humor and coziness. Also, I listened to the audiobook and I really liked the narrator’s voice for Dex. It suits them really well imo, plus the narrator is actually non binary! We love to see it.
