I read this as part of a Southern Literature book club I’m in. The story felt a little bit like two half books squished into one but I didn’t mind the disjointed nature of it because the characters were so interesting and unique. I love books set in South Carolina and especially books that are coming of age, so I might be a bit biased in my review
