Where do I even start...
I really did not expect to feel the feelings I did for these characters. I'm amazed at how the author made me go from disliking Eleanor, to loving her in such a short amount of time. I also love (and hate, because the characters did NOT deserve that) the twists that occurred near the end of the novel. Additionally, the style of writing is similar to "The Sun Is Also a Star" by Nicola Yoon, which is a book that always hits a soft spot of mine.
Once I started reading, I did not want to put it down. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a book that is engaging, and gives you mixed feelings!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast read, tugged at my emotions, and made me root for both main characters. There are some tough topics covered, so definitely read the content warnings first.  Would read more from this author.

THE ENDING OMGGGGGG who let the author do this :( come on the book was so incredibly amazing and it wasn't another teen novel that would never actually happen in real life. minus some of the '80s stuff, it could happen today. the ending frustrated me a little because they could've kept their love going, and park tried really hard. you could almost feel his heart breaking with each and every letter with no reply. Its not like the books where one character dies and then no one can do anything about it, eleanor could have tried.... ahh it was still so good!

In my personal opinion it just was overall bad. I gave it a two star rating because the book can get you invested in the plot even if it it’s not the best, however, that doesn’t mean it was a good read. If you’re a hopeless romantic pre-teen that finds delight in any trope no matter how problematic it may be, then yes, I would recommend it to you, but other than that, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It’s pretty fast-paced and I feel like that was one of the key flaws because despite my liking for a fast pace, if not handled well, it could end up being terrible, which is what this book ended up being, everything felt oddly rushed and the ending fell flat because of it. The book tried to be diverse and tried to be inclusive yet it did nothing but enforce stereotypes of two different races, so if you’re looking for a diverse book that does good representation, this is not it. The book is a hit or miss to the extreme, it’s very straightforward when it comes to the audience it’s targeting (and it isn’t a necessarily bad thing), for me it just missed and by a long shot
