THE ENDING OMGGGGGG who let the author do this :( come on the book was so incredibly amazing and it wasn't another teen novel that would never actually happen in real life. minus some of the '80s stuff, it could happen today. the ending frustrated me a little because they could've kept their love going, and park tried really hard. you could almost feel his heart breaking with each and every letter with no reply. Its not like the books where one character dies and then no one can do anything about it, eleanor could have tried.... ahh it was still so good!

this book encourages messesd up stereotypes about East-Asian people. i'm disappointed because i loved it and stupidly overlooked the blatant fetishising and sterotypes until a tiktok brought it to my attention(a tiktok!) then i read an article, by an Asian person, discussing how messed up the book was, with sources. i'm especially disappointed in rainbow rowell.

I thought the overall story was pretty good, but it was definitely missing some things. There were also little things that the author included that did not to be added in, and most of them had a very racist or fatphobic undertone. 

alright i just read this again for school. wtf was that. im mortified. literally eleanor has to be the most dramatic human ever im sorry. its so frustrating hearing her talk. poor park.
