I really just wasn't vibing with this or the characters, it felt like it was taking too long to actually get into the story.

In the near future, the nations of Earth are looking into setting up mining colonies on the moon. One of the companies, Goddard, has several incidents including a couple of deaths in their training camp. Dr. Zenobia Batiste is assigned to investigate if the deaths were unfortunate accidents or murder.
This took a little while to get going, but once the investigation is underway it quickly becomes an intriguing read. The main character, Zen, is an intelligent, strong woman and I gradually warmed to her and her combative relationship with her new partner, Malone. I really liked the premise as I enjoy books set not too far into the future, but far enough that there are new developments in technology. There were four or five instances of a missing word in a sentence but it didn't spoil my enjoyment of reading the story. Overall I enjoyed this once it got going.
I received a free copy of the ebook from the author via Voracious Readers Only, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
