It was a rather disappointing book for me. Peter reflected on his life in a very American way. It reads more like 'cool stuff I got to do in my life' rather than something profound. There's nothing wrong with it per se, but I expected something else based on reviews and the book synopsys.

A good book with some insightful writing. Barton was an interesting man with a fascinating life. I enjoyed reading his thoughts about life and dying.

this is one of those books that everyone needs to read before they die. there is simply no other way to sum it up.

it is exactly as it needs to be; no more, no less. it is bare and it is honest. it is real.

It's hard to rate a book about someone's life and death experience. Peter Barton was an accomplished man with a loving family and everything to live for when he received a cancer diagnosis in his late 40's. This is a story of his life and how he dealt with his imminent death. I found myself skipping pages that talked about his past. I wanted to know more about his feelings toward dying.

Reading any of Laurence Shames other novels is fun. He is a very entertaining writer. Reading this work of his is not only enjoyable, but uplifting, as well. It is a true Celebration of a Life well lived.
