The dog and cat illustrations amuse me, but the story doesn't do much. Meh.

The illustrations add to and extend the story so much!

I can't wait to see what kids think about this one.

The art is, of course, fantastic. The story, meh. Barnett has done better.

love this book! high intensity throughout as they are so close each time, leaves you wanting more, but good story

Simply awesome. Every time I read this book to people they get so LOUD!!! Beautiful and so much fun.

The ending was a bit weird, though, until we took time to notice and WONDER! This book is such a mystery!

Love it.

I read this to EVERY grade level. I would crack up at the students responses! The were the same on every page. "No", "go that way!" and "what in world?"
Greatness!

My kids LOVED this book, and I did as well. It's really fun to go back and spot the clues and "Easter eggs" after you've read it through once.

Cute picture book about two boys who dig a hole looking for "something spectacular", every time the illustration shows that they have almost eached something wonderful, they change direction. At the end their dog, finds a bone, and they fall thru the hole.
