So That Happened

Katie Bailey

I liked it, but didn’t totally love it. The concept A+, but I felt the writing was a bit juvenile, the relationship moved very very quickly and found myself wishing this was an open door romance book to help add a little interest to it. (And trust me some of my favorites are closed door) I don’t think that I, a woman in her 30s, was the target audience for this book.

The characters were so cute and everything was nice but the push and pull was so frequent that it got tiring. Otherwise a good story overall. And yes totally in love with Liam

This book was everything I wanted it to be and then some! I physically could not put it down the day I read it, because it was so captivating and heart-warming. Annie and Liam are loveable from the get go. Annie being cute, quirky, and full of sunshine while Liam portrays himself as grumpy, introverted, and sullen in a way. I love a good grumpy/sunshine trope, because it leaves so much room for character development. The attraction between the two main characters was undeniable, enjoyable, and believable. The only thing I wish would have been different is I wanted so much more of their cute and flirty banter.

If you are in the mood for a fun and flirty romance this is it! It's a sweet closed door romcom where you play paintball, softball, attend a wedding, and weird things happen in the airport! I 10/10 recommend, and will for sure be giving it a second (and maybe third) read this summer alone!

I loooove Katie Bailey and her books, but this one was just a little too cheesy for me. It was a quick jump from the grumpy falling for the sunshine, and the dialogue between characters was a bit too “perfect.” That said— if you’re looking for a clean, true rom-com, this would be perfect for you!!

“It could never be a mistake to love you, Annie. Loving you is a privilege. An honor I don’t take lightly. And I want to keep on loving you every single day, for the rest of my days.”

This was such a fun, sweet, quick, easy read.

I loved how real and quirky Annie felt, she was so relatable. And oh my gosh Liam
