"Vulnerability is not about winning or losing, it's about having the courage to show up even when you can't control the outcome."
So That Happened by Katie Bailey is quirky, hilarious, and incredibly charming.
Annie (such a good name ;) ) and Liam had such an fantastic build-up in their relationship, and I loved the way these characters were developed. I haven't read much of the grumpy/sunshine trope, but after reading this book, I think I'll have to read more of them. The dichotomy between Annie and Liam was perfect and created some fabulous tension throughout the book.
The romance, oh the romance *cue swooning* was magnificent. Can we talk about the laser tag? Or the bus stop scene? Or the parking lot scene!? I may have reread those sections a time or two . . . but who can blame me? Watching Liam and Annie learn how to mesh their different personalities was delightful. Every interaction they had made me laugh out loud and beam with how adorable and awkward they were.
Seeing Liam open up as Annie broke down every single one of his barriers made me feel like I was falling in love with them. Annie's and Liam's willingness to be open and vulnerable made them both feel incredibly realistic. I'm glad I get to add them to my list of book friends.
I'm so excited to reread this book because reading it feels a little bit like bottled sunshine. Thank you, Katie for sharing your talents with the world. I eagerly await the next adventure you have for me.
Thank you to the author for an complimentary advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

this was cute
I love a good grumpy sunshine.
Just all around sweet story. Liam is a gem. Annie was a bit basic but still lovable
