what??? it was ok at the beginning and then at the end is was downright rushed and so bad I found myself questioning if the writing had been that bad the whole book or if it just became that bad at like the 60% mark. this book was advertised as a slowburn on tiktok (I know tiktok is super deceiving) but a slowburn it is NOT let me tell you that. literally everything in the book happens within 3 weeks like????? the ex was unbearable and downright cringey as were some of the things that left the characters mouths (mostly towards the end). I just can’t do I love you’s after 2 weeks specially when I feel no connection between the characters. I literally felt nothing for them and couldn’t care less about them. and even though I should have dnf’d it I did finish it and I’ve read worse so I guess 2 stars for that.

Give it an extra 0.5 to make it 3.5 because One Direction or Harry Styles were mentioned every other chapter

This was such a cute read!! Honesyly grumpy x sunshine never fails to make me happy.
Could’ve been a 4⭐️ if the ex didn’t randomly appear.

Holy moly this book hooked me from the first sentence! The hilarious situations that the author puts her characters in had me rolling. I read the entire book with a smile on my face.

Oh, and it was so good that after a short break to do mom things (the nerve of kids needing to be fed and tucked in bed), I read it in one evening. Okay, I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning because I just had to see what happened with Liam and Annie. And let me tell you...it was so very good!

Annie is such a happy, free spirit, who is always sticking her foot in her mouth. The things that come out of her mouth are so hilarious. Liam is tight-laced and tight-lipped...rarely smiling or joking...until Annie starts rubbing off on him.

If all of Katie Bailey's books are this good, then she just got a new fan!

If you like:

✨Very awkward meet-cutes
✨One bed (don't worry, it's clean)
✨Carefree Sunshine vs Tight-laced grump
✨Paintball
✨Sibling banter (Luke and Liam are so fun together!)
✨Imperfect characters
✨Banter for days
✨Lucille Ball level comedic situations

Then you need to read this book!

There is minor swearing throughout the book and some innuendos, but it is definitely a closed-door romcom.

**I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
