Half a star off simply because I was left wanting more. I know this is a closed-door romance, so I might go back in later and give that .5 back if this feels unfair. they just said “I love you” and got serious wayyyy too soon for me. I went to a Christian college and got married during my time there, but using “love” after 2-4 weeks was just a bit too soon. Still obsessed with this book, this just made it feel almost too sugary-sweet. Despite that, my reading experience was not harmed in the slightest! The sweet, romantic scenes built so well that I was just left wanting a bit more (but also enjoying not having to worry about people reading over my shoulder).
Sometimes you just need a good, Hallmark-esque romcom filled with pop culture references, great humor, and a handsome tattooed man. So That Happened exists exactly for those moments so you don’t have to put on Clueless or How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days just yet.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to Katie Bailey for an advanced copy!
