för öppet slut, hade varit 5/5 annars🥲
This was my first audio-book experience. Campbell Scott's performance was pretty good, the only thing that annoyed me was when he was reading dialogue? Some of the characters? They sounded like they were questioning? Everything they were saying. I can't stand when people talk like that, question marks peppered all over their sentences, and it was distracting. Also distracting was the when occasionally another guy would cut in with a recorded line that I guess they couldn't get Campbell back into the studio to re-read.
As for the story itself, it's got all the hallmarks of classic Stephen King- supernatural dreams, a hero in an estranged relationship who's an artist, a kid with a nickname, everyone repeating colloquial catchphrases somberly....it just was missing the spark that his earlier novels had. The premise was kind of wobbly and the story took forever to go basically nowhere. Meh.

Audio.
It's Stephen King. It's an interesting concept. It was good. I'm just not raving over it, because while it was a good story and well-enough told, it just didn't do anything special for me. Also, it felt fairly dated- I don't know how much it will hold up in 50 years, as many of his other books will because they're timeless.

Stephen King is an excellent storyteller. I just didn't enjoy this particular story.
