Great Stephen King horror romp. Like a mix of zombies and technology-obsession. Scary and, most of all, funny. The scenes with the phone-crazies laying in the football fields rebooting and playing easy-listening through their mouths is eeire and amazing.
This may be my least favorite SK novel. It had such potential and I love an apocalyptic/zombie tale but there were so many parts of this book where the story lagged. The pacing was all over the place, like he didn’t put as much thought into this one and it feels like the ending was rushed.

I wasn't sure how I felt about this when I went in to it - it felt like there was a lot happening in a very short space of time and I couldn't see how it was going to be fleshed out into an entire novel but my gosh, fleshed out it was!
I loved the characters, felt invested in their journey and was fascinated by the original take on this end of the world as we knew it.

So many people hate on this book, so I was not expecting to love it as much as I did! This is one of the few King books that I haven’t read yet - I am now picking up the ones that I’m not that excited about, to get them “out of the way“. Maybe it was because of my low expectations? But I honestly think that not only is this not as bad as everyone says it is, it’s actually really fun and good!
Cell phones turning people into aggressive zombies is a great premise, and the opening is absolutely chaos. This book starts with a bang. And I really liked the way the “phone-crazies” developed. It made everything a little more complicated than just trying to evade murderous zombies to survive, and that was fun!
The characters in this book were not my favorite or most memorable in the King universe, but I liked them well enough. There’s a scene towards the end that ALMOST made me emotional so that shows I did get attached to them.
The ending especially is infamous for being so bad, and I guess this type of ending is not for everyone, but I really liked it.
Finally, the violence and gore is awesome too.
All in all, this has a lot of things I love in King books, but unfortunately I can’t mention all of them because of spoilers. But survival horror and post-apocalyptic is one of my absolute favorite genres, and this totally delivered for me!
