I liked this! It was spooky and atmospheric and features one of my favorite things: a creepy, haunted house. Some parts of the writing annoyed me. Schwab seems to be relying more and more in recent years on extended metaphors and similes to describe almost everything, which just isn't a personal favorite style of mine. But I did like the story and the characters enough that the writing didn't bother me much. I am very glad I read this right as fall is approaching, though. It's definitely a spooky-season book.
