The vibes are immaculate, a great spooky house setting. The plot takes a while to actually get going and it was just okay.

This book completely tore me to shreds. The way I ugly cried when it was done is no joke and I wish I could include the Pic in my review. The story is so well flushed out. A mute orphaned girl who leaves her orphanage to go to her parents house only to find out the house has a dark mistery/curse/magic behind it and a gate to a whole other world where Death is catching up to her. Even if this plot is similar to others I have read before, the story unfolds in such an unpredictable way (EVEN IN ITS OWN PREDICTIBILITY) that even the plot twists feel entirely unexpected. I would say the ending of the book left me throughly unsatisfied in a very satisfying way. Its been a while since I've read such masterpiece. Also, IT HAS PICTURES!!!! WE LOVE PICTURES!!!!!!! No negative critiques over here. V.E. Schwabb has done it again. Another 5⭐️ reas from her.
