This was my first time reading a book by Miss Victoria Elizabeth, and I really enjoyed her writing style. The story pulled me in right away with its atmosphere and setting. I did find my interest slipping a little as the book went on, but overall I appreciated the world she created. I’m looking forward to exploring more of her books in the future.

I haven't cried this hard since reading the end of Daisy Jones & the Six.

"I slept in your ashes last night.
It was like you laid your shadow down before you left. It smelled like hearth smoke and winter air. I made a blanket of the empty space. I pressed my cheek against the place where yours had been."

enjoyed the vibes immensely, but the story was a bit slow.

Perhaps you are haunting me.
What a comforting thought.

I slept in your ashes last night.

fast-paced

I had so many high hopes for this, but alas, the disappointment was too great eventually.

The themes were repetitive and the characters weren't very lovable and the plot felt like a spiral of things being chewed on far too much and it lost interest far too soon.
