Me gustó muchísimo, la forma en la que la autora puede describir los paisajes en las escenas hizo sentirme parte de ese mundo y acompañado de sus bellas ilustraciones a tinta que añadían lo que le faltaba a la atmósfera; siento que la temática "apocalíptica" es algo que no se ha explorado en el mundo de la literatura infantil, destaco la mirada simple y tranquila de los personajes del libro ante una situación tan compleja como la que estaban pasando -se entiende que el libro fue escrito en épocas de guerras y tiene ciertas metáforas a lo largo de sus capítulos que evocan a eso de alguna manera-.

Incluso en el final donde solo faltan unos minutos para que llegue el cometa a la Tierra, siento que la mirada esperanzadora y cálida de los personajes me hizo sentir bastante tranquila, el cariño que se tienen el uno por el otro entre la familia de Moomin -especialmente Moomin Mamma que es muy tierna- y sus nuevos amigos (entre mis favoritos están Snufkin, Snork maiden y desde el primer libro Sniff que es lo mejor) se siente muy fuerte y genuino.

A pesar de no ser una niña quedé clavada en el libro, me gustó mucho. Quiero leerme ya el siguiente!

I remember these books fondly from my childhood, and on re-reading them ten years ago, they didn't hold up. But this tiem around, this was just as engaging as the first time I read it in 1971. It's delightful to read books where the characters are still characters, but behave nicely, and where there are no gender issues, but some race issues. You could argue that a Moomin who fancies a Snork is a commentary on mixed race marriage.

I'm looking forward to the happy feelings I got from this one back in the day, and found again now, coming back as I read the other books in the series without having to analyse them.
