Alice Feeney sure knows how to write a thriller that keeps you guessing to the very last page. I was hooked on this book and it left me breathless a couple times from the intensity of the suspense.

When a woman is murdered in the sleepy village of Blackdown, newsreader Anna Andrews is on the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious that she may be involved and then becomes a suspect himself! We hear the story from his side and her side but who is telling the truth?

This was a brilliant murder mystery that had me guessing and suspicious of everyone til the very end.

Holy plot twists, Batman! Good mysteries and thrillers keep you guessing, and that's exactly what Alice Feeney did with His & Hers

As the name suggests, we get the both the POV of two people who used to be married: "his" and "hers." He is Jack--a detective who used to live in London but is now working the cases of the small country town he grew up in. She is Anna--a newscaster living in London who was assigned to cover a murder in the small town where her ex-husband is living. Jack and Anna discover that the victim was a woman they went to school with, and they both have a heavy history with her. Over the next few days, more people are murdered, and no one knows who they can trust.

Every time I thought I had something figured out, I was nowhere near the truth. This is decidedly one of my favorite Alice Feeney books to date and one that I'd recommend to all mystery and thriller lovers.

I wanted to read this book because I wanted to read more thriller and crime books. This book is all over the book community and it was on Kindle Unlimited so I thought I would give it a go and this book is so screwed.

This book has two points of view. The first is Anna Andrews, she is a reporter for the BBC, and she is reluctant to cover a case of a murdered woman in Blackdown village. The reason why she’s reluctant – Blackdown village is her hometown, and she doesn’t like to think about her childhood or the fact that it was the last place she saw her daughter before she died.  The second point of view is DCI Jack Harper, he is determined to figure out who murdered this woman especially when his ex-wife is one step ahead of him. Jack is suspicious over her involvement until someone else is murdered and he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Especially when he was sleeping with the first victim. Someone is lying and some secrets are worth killing to keep. But who is lying?

This book kept you hooked, from the suspense to the twists, I was very nearly breaking my kindle by throwing it across the floor. I loved the split POV between Anna and Jack, it made it more interesting, and the chapters would change POV just as it got to the plot twist. The storyline is intriguing. My favourite chapters are the ones where the penny finally drops which didn’t happen until the very end which drove me a bit nuts – I just wanted to know who was lying.

I would have loved to see the superintendent a bit more like someone who was like Jack you are nuts and calm down sort of thing, where Jack just went off on his merry way and not following processes. I would have loved for this to have the POV of the victims especially with the killer taunting them with the photos and things, I would have loved their reactions. I still don’t trust Priya and thing something dodgy is going on.

I will definitely be reading more of Alice Feeney’s work and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves crime and psychological thriller books.
