Alice Feeney sure knows how to write a thriller that keeps you guessing to the very last page. I was hooked on this book and it left me breathless a couple times from the intensity of the suspense.

Some of the things in this book were sickening. I really wish the book had killed off more characters than it did, honestly (a lot of male characters that were happy to take advantage of young girls, mainly.) A lot of it was disturbing for so, so many reasons, and not in a good way. In a large way, everyone in the book is a villain in some form. You're not sad when any of them die other than the last two. To a point, the real villains are oddly so villainous they aren't even believable. (Like the fur coat thing was Cruella level)

I did guess who the killer was almost the first time meeting them. I kept suspecting it at certain points but the book kept me second guessing myself until the end. Did it surprise me? Yes. Did I think it was believable... ish. Did I like 90% of what happened in the book? No. Did I like the mystery? I'm honestly not sure since I like to be surprised but I'm not sure I liked these surprises.

Unreliable narrator, which I enjoyed. Was taken aback by some graphic content, but I should've looked for a content warning before reading.

The first 1/3 of the book was slow, like, “Will I finish this?” Slow. The characters were flawed, and didn’t have a ton of changing happening internally. But it kept me guessing to the very end as I repeatedly texted my friend in all caps and gasped loud enough my spouse looked up.

As far as entertainment goes this book delivered and especially the audiobook which features three separate narrators. One thing I love about Alice Feenys thrillers is that they have something or multiple something’s important to say and His and Hers was no exception. This author has so many profound little quotes and paragraphs scattered throughout her books that you could spend hours contemplating the real truths concealed in the text of this vastly entertaining read. This is definitely a popcorn thriller though and believability was sacrificed for shock factor. I still enjoy the authors works and look forward to whatever they write next.

okay i thought i had it all figured out… i was mostly wrong lol
but seriously couldn’t stop thinking about this book while i was doing literally anything else. and i really thought i had it down!! to be fair to me i was definitely connecting some dots but the dots that needed to be connected were completely different lol
in my opinion, i don’t feel like we were given enough evidence to figure out who the correct killer was, especially since a lot of the damning proofs came towards the very end of the story.
anyways loved it love a mystery always
