A magnificent story depicting the views of the spiritual world. Mr. Redfield uses an action packed adventure to explain human evolution and divine purpose through the main character's search for an ancient manuscript believed to hold key insights into spirituality. I look forward to seeing how the insights present themselves in my daily life. As well as seeing the movie.

Not really a bad book, but it's simply not my taste. Maybe suitable for more spiritual people.

This was my fourth time reading this book, though many years have passed since my last time. It's a little dated, but still very good. The thought of permeating energy in the world is very uplifting to me. Consciously or not, many of the themes in this book have been cropping up in my life lately. Sort of like I was meant to reread it at this point in my life.

It was like reading a choose your own adventure book both in writing style (poor, although perhaps the choose your own adventure books are better written) and in how the book felt. While the reader did not have any choices to make (other than to keep reading or not), it felt like the choices the main character had to make in each chapter (go here or there, talk to this person or not, etc.) were presented in the way they are in the choose your own adventure rubric.

I started off really liking this book and thinking that I agreed with a lot of what it had to say. Sure, the story itself might not be true, but the author has some good ideas about why we should be good to each other.
Then it made a severe left turn not only into very religious territory, but also made some pretty wrong assumptions as to why a civilization "disappeared"...when they really kind of didn't.
Like Dan Brown's books, it has some interesting things to say, but, ultimately, it's just another New Wave Medicine book.
But I do agree that we should all be good to each other because it feeds our "good vibes"...whatever those "vibes" might be.

Really didn't enjoy this one bit. Listened to it on tape and really felt all the hype about the book was more than it deserved.

I read this for a friend. This is one of my dear friend's favorite book. Being an agnostic bordering on atheist, she thought I might enjoy it because it gives another idea to what might be out there. While I respect her and her opinions, I personally felt this book was a little far fetched. I found it unrealistic in most ways, but there are some lessons to be taken from it. It took me a long time to finish because it didn't really hold my interest.
