I’m glad to have read it, though it was slow and uninteresting at parts. Some of the insights really landed with me personally, and others didn’t. Also the views of Christianity, economic systems, and government systems are outdated as we now currently see their flaws and harm, specifically toward minorities and oppressed peoples.
***note: the author uses the mysterious disappearance of the Mayans to prove a point on spirituality. It’s important to note that the Mayans didn’t disappear and still exist today.***

I just couldn’t get into this book. I think it was the writing style that I didn’t care for more than anything else because it did find myself thinking about some of the “Insights.” The writing just felt lack luster and green. Maybe in a few years I’ll pick it up again and something will resonate.

Coincidence I finished this the day after Mayan calendar ended? No end of the world, no earth shattering insights. Lol. I might have to ponder this one for a while to make up my mind about it.
I hate this book - the writing, the content, everything. It's a bunch of poorly thought out, unoriginal ideas. It amazes me that someone allowed this book to go to print.

This book is a terrible pseudo spiritual philosophy crammed into an even worse adventure plotline. I read it based on a recommendation and have never been so disappointed. I see devoting time to a longer rebuttal/debunking of this garbage as a waste of time.

i hated it. the person who gifted me this book had told me it was supposed to be introspective, but i found it very inconsistent and boring. the prose isn't that good and it doesn't make you feel absorbed in the story. wouldn't recommend
