Okay- I binged the first 400 pages in about three days but the flashbacks started to get too much and slowed me down.
While it was interesting to see how the tearling came to be, im not so much interested in the futuristic setting of the flashbacks.
The end of the book ended up being pretty predictable
and im a little bit confused as to why Kelsea didn’t just use the powerful sapphires to freeze the Mort army, or slay them all with her mind like she’s done before? The extent of her powers are never explained, so I’m left wondering if there were better ways to have gotten out of the situation with the Red Queen and the Mort invasion.
. Overall pretty good book but I did miss the Kelsea from the first book. I liked that she wasn’t conventionally attractive or thin because it wasn’t something I saw in a lot of the main characters I’ve read about.
I think the author didn’t totally have to change Kelsea’s appearance to be like Lily’s, and I’m also not sure what the purpose of the self harm scenes were…
. Looking forward to reading the next book!
