The further into the book the less I liked it. Plus it’s homophonic. Think I’ll pass on the rest of her stuff .

Bad. Formulaic & seemingly repetitive. Dated, fatphobic, cringy. DNF.

Eh.... The author's tone really tarted to grate on me about halfway through this book, and I honestly felt really bad for her poor husband. She just complains and complains about him!

Some of her language and commentary feels a little... not ok by 2019 standards... but putting it in 2003 context is more forgivable. This book was funny, relatable, a little over the top, and overall a quick and easy read.

I adore Laurie Nataro. Her books make me laugh, a lot...loudly. In particular, this book is great for anyone who has dealt with wedding planning and cohabitation. I also liked how Nataro ended the collection with a sentimental story.

"One night as he slept, I hovered over the breathing patterns of my boyfriend and whispered, “I command thy demon to show himself!" but all that happened was that the poor little fellow started to drool."

"According to my mother, child abuse wasn't illegal until the 1980's, so under the grandfather clause, she can still whip off her shoe and hit me with it at any given time without consequence."

"I will freely admit that I married for love and because it seemed like the next logical step after stalking him got a little boring."

I was hanging on until the Alzheimer's chapter. Then nope.
