I read this as part of a summer reading challenge. And my first thought was to wonder why I hadn't read it earlier. I read it in a single evening and could not put it down. But I did then want to return to it again. It's incredibly moving, and I am so appreciative of the nuance and authenticity. It doesn't flinch from honesty. And we need to have these to remind ourselves and each other of the past.

The look of it is simple, but manages to convey emotion pretty well. I loved the family drama aspects of it and tracing current tensions to Vladek's past.
