Repeater as well, I am on a JCP kick and reading everything I can get my hands on. This is a very short snapshot of the first time Jacob and Vic met. Man I love them both so hard!

Cute short interlude to learn how Jacob gets introduced to the idea of Crash and his first interaction, although minor, with Vic.

A little bit of insight into Jacob Marks mind, a small view of his past, and a peek at his future, and how he got involved with Crash.

A quick and enlightening read into Jacob and Caroline's relationship, too.

This is a fun little prequel to the PsyCop series and one of two stories told from Jacob’s perspective. He and his partner, Carolyn, are going to his first PsyCop meeting. While he’s excited about it, Carolyn is more interested in fixing Jacob up with a new man. As Carolyn is a telepath, Jacob has to be very careful what he says to her.

As much as I enjoyed this story, I think it would be better appreciated by gaining some familiarity with the characters and their world. Vic’s misadventure with a jelly donut is hilarious! Oh a short story from Jacob's POV.

I really enjoyed this, it was nice getting to witness Jacob's first encounter with Vic. Vic is just so adorably clumsy. I also liked getting to see how Jacob and Carolyn interacted.

“Please tell me you weren’t thinking gay thoughts at work in a room full of certified Psychs.”
“Gay thoughts?”
“Jacob….”
“Should I have borrowed a straight brain before I showed up at the meeting?”

This gives us a little look at Jacob's life and I hope there will be more Jacob POV's in the future.

I'm crushing hard already and I'm not even two books in.

The PsyCop short stories are vignettes, tilting more towards romance than the longer pieces (novellas, novels). Moments in the life. Sweet, but probably best read as treats if you're already attached to the characters from the longer narratives, rather than in strict chronological order -- not enough is established in them to pull a new reader in.
