Colleen Hoover does it again with Ugly Love. There’s something about a tortured soul who finds solace and release in the main character that just gets me. I’ve read it twice now and both times have bawled my eyes out.

Wow that was messy. And the sexual tension. Omg. Lowkey hate that she’s a great author and can give me all the feels for the characters. Her books feel so cliche romcom, and I feel like such a noob reading them. But are written in a way that leaves me speechless by the end. I have to admit, this lady knows how to build suspense then throw such a “in your face” plot twist. I’m a silently obsessed fan.

-1 point (mainly bc the relationship between Miles and Rachel kinda gave me the ick)

errr😬 idk there's just so many options for romance books than reading this one, but 2 stars for the happy ending.

Never again with this woman’s books. It’s not even fun to hate them anymore
medium-paced

Omg!! I finished this book in one day! I couldn’t put it down! This is the second book I’ve read by this author the other was Verity. Her writing is so good and makes you feel so much!

wow. This book was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. I’m not sure how to feel. While I was reading the book, I definitely didn’t think the book was going to be as good as it was, and thought I was going to have to give it three stars, but the ending definitely made up for it. I think my true rating for the book would be 3.5 stars but I rounded it up to four because I think it truly deserved it.

I also don’t think I like Miles as much as others do just because of his actions near the end of the book….but that might just be me

edit: thinking back on this, I kinda think this book only deserves two stars ONLY because I hated the scene where Tate told miles to “just finish,” it just didn’t sit with me right. also the fact that he actually did even though he knew it was wrong because Rachel said the same thing to him before. With that, I despise how quickly Tate forgave him, I understand he had trauma and he needed to get over that, but where was her self dignity? kinda aggravating.
