Well written as ever, but not as hard hitting emotionally as some other novel of Anne Tyler's and I was not blown away by the ending.  It was a slice of life story and easy to read, but also easily forgotten.

Good lord. I'd forgotten how much I love Anne Tyler books. This simple, ordinary story packs a punch, and Tyler has drawn Micah as a perfectly quirky and understated character. I felt like I knew him from page 1. Delightful.

I love the way Anne Tyler creates communities of real people. The family dynamics and ordinariness of life is so easy to imagine when I read her books.

An off-beat love story that centers on the life of a man who doesn't seem to have a life beyond his work as maintenance man and computer technician. He cherishes his routine and methodical way of dealing with life. What has to happen to make him think twice about life?
