Very quick read. Delightful story-no real plot but great character development. I can picture the whole thing.

Another great story from my favorite author. The characters are always well developed and draw you in.

No one else can write a character driven novel the way Tyler can. Her writing is spare but tells you everything you need to know to get attached to the characters. This wasn't her strongest book but I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless.

Not a favorite for me. Well written, of course. Underlying sense of humor, but also a bit depressing.

Libby audiobook (skip the line). MMD SRG 2020. I enjoyed it! Very character driven. 3 stars because I felt overall it was short and bland and the book will not stay with me.

Ok for a summer book. Brief and not much to it.

I liked this book because it was an easy read. Sometimes that is exactly what we need! I wouldn't call it innovative or life-altering, but if you're looking for something quick and readable, pick this up!

At under 200 pages, this book is a profile of the the life of 40-something Micah Mortimer, a freelance, on-call computer technician and basement-dwelling building superintendent. Micah is a creature of habit with a rigid daily routine. He’s particularly proud of his safe driving habits. He’s trying to deal with a recent breakup with his girlfriend of three years with little support from his loud, brash family. The son of a college girlfriend appears at his door with hopes that he is his biological father. He is not. With few meaningful connections, he ponders his life as a probably-always single man.

Anne Tyler, from what I’ve read, is a masterful writer of characters. This was a brief introduction to her work. I’d need to read more of her books to see how this one measures up.
