The twist in this one was actually fantastic. And love finally getting to Moriarty. (Kinda).

This Doyle novel follows the trend of previous novels. It reads almost as two entirely different books, which I do not enjoy much.

A classic Sherlock novel. I love how in a longer format Conan Doyle gets to show off his abilities a bit more through the narration of far away events told by diverse characters. It's fun. I was in a detective mood so I enjoyed the simplicity of it very much. It's not really straight forward because the plot is kinda convoluted but it's simple in the way that it follows the classic Sherlock Holmes formula. I feel like I'm not praising it enough because it is actually cool but there are so many Holmes mysteries that stand out more than The Valley of Fear.
I loved the historical section of this novel. Another great listen as read by Stephen Fry in the audiobook from Audible.

Esta novela está dividida en 2 partes, la primera es el misterio en sí y la segunda es sobre los antecedentes de la misma. La primera parte me gustó, se sintió más de investigación (como me gustan las historias de detectives, donde tu puedes resolver el enigma). Hay pistas y Sherlock no resuelve el caso por arte de magia como suele hacerlo. A esa parte le doy 3/5
En la segunda parte todo se viene abajo. Es aburrídisima, Sherlock y Watson (lo único que me gusta de los libros de Doyle), no aparecen. Le doy 1/5.
Las historias de Holmes suelen tener mucho de Contar y no Mostrar, y esta no es la excepción. No me gusta ese estilo narrativo. No entiendo por qué el autor decidió contar la historia de esta manera, lo más interesante al principio y lo más aburrido al final.
