Let's say a very high three.

I don't really know what to say. I was abit disappointed as it wasn't as good as the first book I read by Malorie Blackman but that was a few years ago and my tastes have changed but I still stand by my original statement that she is an amazing author.

And I would just like to say that adding the 'not for younger readers' label was a great idea as this is probably the most disturbing book I've read. Some of the nightmares actually made me fearful as if I'd just watched them in a horror movie. Also the tension was built up in each nightmare I was sat there gasping and partially hiding under my covers the whole time I was reading it.
I don't really know how I felt about the ending as I got over it within a few seconds of finishing but I suppose the ending was supposed to be calm in contrast to the rest of the book.

I wouldn't read if you are someone who is scared easily or easily disturbed but if you like death, devils, suicide and crazy murderous children then this is a book for you!

This book was more of a compilation of short stories with an overarching plot than one book in itself. As such, there was variety in the standard of how interesting and well-written the nightmares were. I really enjoyed some of them, whereas some I found were a bit dull. And I also feel the 'horror' aspect of this book was oversold; it was more just a little spooky than a full-blown horror.

Not the target audience for this book, really evident because this book drove me nuts. It needed to be edited before publishing, so many sentences that are long and pointless. Words should be have been cut left, right and centre to help this. But this book was painful to read couldn’t get pass halfway.
