I adore this series and all of the characters. I fell completely in love with this world and feel like I could keep reading it forever. Unfortunately, I felt like much of the book was a lot of interaction and lot of talk but not a lot of plot movement. The last quarter is really fantastic and the end (THE END!!) was everything. I definitely appreciate that the majority of the book takes place in the Courtyard this time and so you really get a detailed look at what changes are happening but I miss the mix of action and danger that was a lot more obvious in the earlier books of the series. I also finished the book without realizing it was the last one so clearly I'm not 100% satistfied. There still seems so much to for the reader to see and learn about this world and it's people and the characters all seem to still have much to learn about each other. I'm off to go re-read the end again. If that's all we're going to get then I better savor it!

Infelizmente, este livro tornou-se extraordinariamente anti-climático, tendo em conta que o anterior seria o fim perfeito para esta saga. Este quinto e último volume pareceu nada mais do que um "spin-off" desnecessário cujo vilão não se enquadra, de todo, no que um vilão é suposto ser num último livro de uma saga.
Tenho que admitir que fiquei aliviado por pôr este livro, finalmente, de parte, tendo em conta que se não existisse ou não o tivesse lido, não sentiria que perdi parte da história geral.
Se considero um livro redundante, não posso avaliá-lo com mais do que duas estrelas. Neste caso específico, não gostei da maioria do que li e, sinceramente, dei por mim a "rolar os olhos" muito frequentemente.
Suponho, no entanto, que seja apropriado para fãs renhidos da saga que querem ver mais do mundo d'Os Outros.

I find it appropriate that the book cover model has the worst version of her wig for this book, because the plot and main villain were just as raggedy and off-kilter.

Anne Bishop really belly flopped the landing on this series, because I was SO into it. I just found this last book so distasteful in everything that had to do with Monty's brother. Which was most of the book. At least everything else was just as good and I still ate it all up.

I think I read this entire series in a week. I have no idea what kind of spell it put on me but damn. That was a really fun ride.
