Maybe the scariest book I've ever read, almost certainly the most disturbing. The first book to give me a nightmare. What a gross, great read. Not for the faint of heart.

This is one of those times where i feel like i read a different book to everyone else. I truly don’t understand how so many people say this is the most disturbing book they’ve ever read. To me it was just boring?? I felt more disturbed after a 50 minute lesson on tape worms in year 9 health class.

I was aware of the animal cruelty scenes before i started reading and was prepared to skip them if i had to but i honestly felt no need. The descriptions in this book made me feel nothing.

This book wasn’t scary in the slightest and purely relied on shock value except even the “shocking” parts weren’t that extreme. It was like ‘they were so hungry they ate BUGS!!!’ Like okay and? Bear grylls does that all the time am i supposed to give a fuck?

Goes without saying but i dont recommend this one. There are much better body horror and parasite books out there

It was definitely a spooky book and is well written. I had a hard time with it due to animal cruelty/torture. I stopped when they were going to kill a sea turtle, I couldn't keep going.

I refused to get raw sushi at dinner because of this book so props to Nick Cutter for that

Never have I ever met a book so disgusting yet so emotionally draining. A big chunk of this book really pulls at your heart strings which I was so not expecting.
