Suddenly felt like rereading this. I first read this as a child and enjoyed it a lot back then. Still love it today. Paddington is so sweet and clumsy (he reminded me of Winnie the Pooh a lot), you can't help but love him and his adventures.

I know I'm supposed to like this book, but, honestly, I found it quite boring. I would give it two stars, but since Gabe said he liked it (although he says that about every book) I decided to bump it up to three. The movie is even worse so don't waste your time on that (we gave up on it halfway through).

"A Bear Called Paddington" introduces readers to the charming adventures of a young bear who travels from Darkest Peru to London. As a longtime fan who only recently delved into Paddington's stories, I found myself delighted by his wit and intelligence. Despite being familiar with Paddington from the cartoon, reading about his escapades in the original book was a delightful experience.
