[It was okay] - I love this author’s writing but this wasn’t my fave from hers. The story fell a little flat for me but I did really love the characters. The narration of the audiobook was great. This book gave me a little bit of “PS I Love You” vibes - which is a fave of mine so maybe that’s why this book didn’t quite make it past the 3⭐️ mark.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a free advanced copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This is a sweet story about grief of losing a spouse and trying to move forward. It has a really sweet development from friends to lovers storyline. The ending was so touching it made me teary-eyed.

I will read anything that is produced by Lia Louis. When I'm browsing the shelves of new releases and I see her name, I pick it up with trust and confidence. This is the third book I've read by her and it might just be my favorite. I think all her books deal with real issues and this time it was no different, and so there are moments where I think I have to stop and just give my heart a little room to breathe before continuing but nevertheless she always brings everything and everyone together perfectly. Sometimes I read books for the escapism and to leave my own life behind, and then sometimes I think I read stories hoping it'll bring me perspective but somehow root me further into this ground I'm standing on and slow down the days passing me by just enough so I can see them. Lia Louis does this for me with wit and warmth. Her characters are always somewhat laden but charming and changing and therefore enticing you to the end. And of course, it must be be said, the romance is always the key to my heart and she unlocks it effortlessly every time.

Two years since Natalie's husband passed away, her friends are ready to help her 'get back out there', but shes still not quite on board with all of their antics, preferring instead to spend time playing piano at a train station to bring back memories of her past.

This one was cute, but it just wasn't quite there for me like Eight Perfect Hours was. I still enjoyed reading it and think that others may enjoy it! This is also another looks-like-winter cover, but it isnt at all. Happy reading!

Read if you:
Play (or played!) the piano
Want to feel like you are in England
Like a small mystery element in contemporary romances
