If a cartoon could be a graphic novel, this is what it would look like. I found the squirrel shenanigans very charming!

Cute graphic novel for grades 1-5ish. Squirrels and donuts, a fun combo.

10/10 squirrels... donuts... what more do you want?!

Edit; I don't want a picture book to count towards my reading goal so removing dates.

Norma and Belly are two rascals of best friends and squirrels, who only want in life is snacks. And who can blame them? Snacks, especially donuts above all else in life. This fun adventure is about teamwork and trying new things. The panel with the roller skate and the donuts is the funniest thing I've seen in a minute.
I am knocking a half point off, because I wish there were more character definition between the main squirrels. The light brown blobs looked interchangeable until I got further into the story and knew the characters better.

It was cute, but it fell short somehow. I know I’m not the target demographic and there are kids I know that would love this, but I didn’t get the laughs or content I usually get from children’s graphic novels in this book.

Norma and Belly just want a donut but the food truck owner will not feed the squirrels, so they have to take matters into their own hands.

Young readers will adore Norma and Belly and their silly antics. After reading a ton of graphic novels for young readers, I have to say that this one is a favorite! I love the "punny" title, the well-done illustrations, and the fun adventures of these two squirrels. I was thrilled to see there are more titles in this series.

*Huge thank you to Random House Graphic for an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Norma and Belly are just two squirrels trying to make it out in the world. When Norma accidentally burns their breakfast, the two set off to find some new food and end on a little adventure to obtain their treat!

I loved this book, it was simple, sweet, and an enjoyable read. I could see reading this to my nephews, or storytime's at the library. The illustrations were simple and colored beautifully, the story kept a nice pace and never got dull, and while there was conflict, it wasn’t anything dramatic or intense. There was a nice message that everyone could learn from. And now, I need to go find a donut!

A fun crime caper graphic novel for kids: wily squirrels Norma and Belly plot to get donuts from the donut truck, escaping in a getaway roller skate. Lots of fun.
