The prose and poetry woven into this book is so strong, really made me feel like was among the asphodels. 

The world building was a bit hard to grasp, things happened so fast so I'm not sure if I wasn't paying attention enough. 

Though I enjoyed the writing, the plot was a bit confusing. There also was a hijabi character that I did not expect. I personally don't like mixing religion with fantasy and having a muslim character dealing with the occult made me a bit uncomfortable, something I didn't enjoy.

Fantastic book! An interesting idea blended with old stories and mythologies. The plot was completely and thrilling but easy to read. A different sort of hero than fantasy books usually have and I was there for it!

loved loved loved the writing style,, but the action scenes and general plot wasn’t it for me. I read it very slow and whilst distracted though, so maybe that’s on me
