This is a very sweet, cute, and cozy read. It's a very simple premise. An elderly woman, Helen, lives her life alone. She just waits for death. But one day, she finds a small mouse and ultimately starts to care for it. As she starts to care for it, she starts talking to new people in regards to the mouse, and they become her friends. It's a lovely story that warms your heart.

I really enjoyed this cute tale that I read for book club. I wasn’t sure I was going to at first. It didn’t seem to be my style. The main character seemed to be a little curmudgeon-ish but became more likable and the supporting characters were so likable. It made me think about getting older and the pace of life slowing and what one needs out of life.
