Admittedly it took a bit for me to get into this but once I did I really enjoyed it! I think I will pick up the second one asap to keep the flow going as I feel like if I left alot of time between them it would take that time for me to get back into it.

First of all I have to address the artwork... it is freakin stunning!!! I will probably flip through it a few times more before I return it just to look at the art work.

The main character Nina wasn't that likeable but the story itself was still enjoyable. It had some good twists too so I am really interested to see where the story will go.

But that art work... perfection!

Absolutely gorgeous artwork and an interesting plot, but I did not enjoy the writing. It felt elementary and all over the place, which made the story feel rushed and the MC super irritating. I’m going to give the next volume a try and hope that the writing improves.

Gorgeous artwork, wonderful inking, the colors are popping, harmonious. They almost steal the thunder of the artwork.
Now, the plot is giving you everything to be curious and check the new issue, count me intrigued!

I definitely want to know more and I'll read more.
Yes yes yes ti Nina's story!!!

The main character is an annoying and unlikeable snowflake.

First, can we just talk about how amazing the cover for this issue is? I’ll be honest with you and say that it’s the main thing that caught my attention and made me want to read this series. Totally not ashamed to admit that. Everything about this cover (and the alternates I’ve seen as well) is perfect.
This was a decent start to a new series. It had some show/tell issues, as well as some pacing issues, but on the whole it was really interesting. I think the next few issues are where we’ll really get to dig our teeth into the series though. Now that the backstory is out of the way, they’ll be freer to explore the parts of the story that you can tell they’ve been really looking forward to. So while I wasn’t blown away with the start of this series, I have no doubt that I’ll continue reading it.
The character designs are striking, but the characters themselves are still a little flat. This would be one of the show/tell issues I was talking about. We know all about the main characters hopes, dreams, and regrets…but I still don’t feel connected to her at all. I think with time we could see her develop more, giving us more of a chance to care about her.
The artwork has been amazing so far. Especially the more ethereal parts. I don’t want to ruin any of them by trying to describe them – but part of me wishes that one particular scene had been on the cover (though that would have been a spoiler, so I understand the decision not to do that).

The art is beautiful and the story is intriguing. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
