I was 80+ pages in and still bored. Didn’t finish.

Repressed, Victorian-style characters? A richly political fantasy? Gothic horror elements?
Yes please!
Seriously, this book was like three in one. An easy and engaging read, and a great escape.

Wren is such a shitty character. I ended up despising her and hoping she would die by the end of the book.

Saft should have either made Una endgame or not wasted so much time talking about the possible romantic relationship. There was so much focus on Una that Hal seemed like an afterthought.

The ending of the book was such a letdown. It felt like Saft forgot she needed to have an ending and came up with the easiest possible solution.
