Not for me. Was really looking forward to reading this one. I enjoyed the chapter on “not sitting on my bed in your outside clothes” but not much else. Glad I got this one from the library.

Please Don't Sit On My Bed... is like having an ongoing convo with your friend throughout the stages of the pandemic: from the early stages of adapting to a WFH life in March 2020 to the racial injustices and performative allyships that would crop up later that year to the much harped-on discourse of self-care. While 2020-specific literature feels a little too soon, Phoebe tackles these topics with a voice that's irrepressibly delightful, zippy, and warm. It's easy to simultaneously laugh and think critically as you're reading along.

At times, the essays can feel overstuffed with jokes and hashtags. Or rather, you have to go through a string of multiple jokes to get past the intro of an essay. It's something that I noticed when I had read Everything's Trash, so it didn't come off as a complete surprise.

Despite that, though, this is a very sharp, witty collection of writing that picks apart the absurdities that the pandemic brought into full view.

Listened to the audiobook and I LOVE hearing Phoebe read. So much wit and wisdom in one book. Now I want to buy a hard copy so I can keep coming back to it!

I’ve loved all of Phoebe’s books and this one was highly anticipated for me. I read it way too fast so now I’m going to sit and wait impatiently for her next one :,(

Another great book! Same conversational vibes as the last one I read. I really like how it feels like I'm sitting down and having a convo with Phoebe! The essays in this one were fun too, really enjoyed hearing about her British partner and her thoughts about self-care & hair. I will continue to read and watch anything with Phoebe in it, she's hilarious and a real gem!
