Potential my favourite book of all time. I can return to this book again and again and still feel the wonder, mystery and connection that I felt the first time I turned the pages. Wonderful.

Goodreads says I've read this book before but I don't remember doing so. However, when I was a child, I saw several different versions of the movie. The book is delightful! I love gardening and this book inspired me to putter even more in my patio garden. The descriptions of the secret garden are thrilling and cozy all at the same time. This book is definitely going on my favorites shelf, especially this particular printing. The illustrations are gorgeous.

The prettiest and loveliest descriptions of nature I’ve ever read. It was so beautiful and reverent of the garden, and it was filled with such childish delight. That being said, I didn’t really care for the ending. I hated how the book glossed over the fact that Archibald Craven was an awful father. He was TERRIBLE and they don’t have any confrontation about it? No conflict? It just felt a little anti-climatic and rushed. I thought there would be more about Mary and Dickon because they were the main characters until Colin was introduced, but after Archibald came, the book ended in a sliver of pages. Idk I just expected more
