This book is stunning and really believes in Humanity even in extremely dark times. It highlights highs and lows and the never ending struggle for goodness. And the fantasy elements really highlight these in the best way. Loved it.

The truth does not change whether it is seen or unseen, it whispered in her mind. A thing which is happening happens whether you look at it or not. And yes, maybe it is easier not to look. Maybe it is easier to say because you do not see it, it is not happening. Maybe you can pull the stone out of the pool and put the moon back together.

Be Not Afraid.
I loved this with my entire heart.

What an absolutely brilliant book. Everyone needs to read this. I wish there had been a bit more background information provided about the revolution but otherwise perfection.

Interesting fantasy YA book about what happens when monsters and angels exist, but everyone tries to pretend they don’t. It takes a transgender girl who doesn’t often speak to expose the truth. Abuse happens and must be realized and brought out of the darkness. Great book and theme for younger readers. I zoned in and out with this one a bit because I’m not big on fantasy. But I know my students would love it!
