A student recommended this and I’m so glad he did. It was FANTASTIC and provided such thoughtful insight into World War I. It also made me realize how much history I don’t know. I love each of the characters she wove into her story. ❤️

My eyes are crossing from reading for 2 hours straight but this was such a good book!!!! Anything by Jennifer Nielsen is always a 5 star fav for me! Normally I struggle keeping multiple story lines straight, but the fact that they intersected constantly definitely helped. I haven’t read much about world war 1 in terms of fiction, and this was a good look at each side of the war.

It’s a really good book. I enjoyed reading it and it made me think of how the difference in the lives of the characters verses my life.

Huge fan of Jennifer A. Nielsen’s stories. This one was the most confusing read, and I found myself rereading sections throughout the story to clarify things, only to be continually confused. I feel like there were too many holes that, If those details were included, would have clarified much.
