The Curious Case of the Copper Corpse by Alan Bradley

A very short story which has that feel of unique quirkiness and charm. A student at the local boys' academy calls on Flavia to investigate a very unique murder. It was interesting that Flavia's reputation has led her to be consulted in a murder mystery. Flavia puts it all together and confronts the person who needs to be confronted, solving the mystery. The mystery is clever enough, I suppose, but it feels curiously flat and not filling.

Bradley could have added a few more pages and made it more cohesive with other novels. Anyhow I enjoy Flavia’s chemistry-obsessed mind. So there was no way I was going to skip this one.

Happy Reading!!

The mystery itself was perfectly satisfactory, and it stands completely alone from the rest of the series so if you're not caught up you won't feel like you're missing anything. But it's no substitute for full-flavor Flavia.

A short and fun Flavia book. Solving a murder at a school boys request.

Mr Bradley can squeeze so much imagery onto a page. I love every book written and this little diddy!

Now that was a really disappointing short story. Mediocre. Bradley can do better.
