Good little read and I enjoyed the storyline and character building but had to L say I found the book incredibly repetitive, which I understand it had to be by the nature of the story but it did detract away from the enjoyment a bit.

Slade House is incredibly well written. However... there were a lot of things missing for me. The novel didn't exactly read like a novel and rather like five intertwined short stories. I felt like there was little character development, other than a small amount for Norah and Jonah at the end. Speaking of the end, I'm quite confused. It seemed a bit abrupt to me. I wish that I had gotten some background on Iris and how she came to be a so-called "astronaut." I did not dislike Slade House. It's a fast and interesting read. I was just left a little underwhelmed toward the end. It's not a book that I think I will pick up again in the future, unfortunately.

an interesting story about a pair of twins possessing and consuming the soul of a child on drugs, an… eager… detective inspector, a delusional girl, the girl’s confused sister, and finally one of the twins perspective of trying to consume an horologist. probably should’ve researched the order to read david mitchell’s books cause apparently this ties into his other books but it’s too late now 🤷‍♀️

+ loved the thriller genre, third part was my favourite.
- fantasy genre, fourth part dragged out a bit, fifth part I didn't understand because it links to a series the author's already written.

what a fascinating book! i bought it on a complete whim and i just loved it. what an insane story. i really loved that we only a spent a little time with each new character but still really got to know them - they were so well developed with different humour, accents, wants - it impressed me anyway.
i also loved how at the end, norahs realisation at her aging paralleled all the twins’ victims when they noticed they couldn’t breathe - so clever
genuinely recommend this so much. very glad i read it! compared with the only other horror/thriller i’ve read - the turn of the screw - this was so much better and i’m glad i have discovered that not all books in the genre are convoluted and boring
