This book was much better than the first in the series. It still had a couple of issues, but I think this is down to the author, who uses the same ideas in most of her books.
Ultimately, this is going to be a very average series and one that will be quickly forgotten in time.

A good second book in the series that spends a lot of time having to get people to various places so the ending can happen. Beautiful world building, and an interesting set up for the next book.

The story is good, but the books are simply too long, which makes it a bit of a grind to read... too much mundane detail.
Puh, da musste ich mich sehr durchquälen. So richtig Lust auf den dritten Teil hab ich nicht, aber ich mag es auch nicht, Reihen mittendrin abzubrechen.
As always, Trudi Canavan's writing completely draws me in to another of her magical worlds.
