Jedna z najcięższych przepraw ostatnich lat. Naprawdę ufałam Trudi, że pierwszy tom to jej rozgrzewka, a potem jest już jazda bez trzymanki. Niestety w tym przypadku nawet drugi tom nie wystarczył, by kolejka choć ruszyła z miejsca. Bohaterowie są bardzo dokładnie narysowani, zasady rządzące światami jasne i klarowne, intrygi dopracowane w najmniejszych szczegółach, jednak brakuje porywającej historii, która by te wątki splotła i przytrzymała czytelnika na bezdechu. To wielki kciuk w dół ode mnie, pozostałych tomów nawet nie będę zaczynać. Pozostanę sobie w świecie, który skończył się na Erze Pięciorga i postanawiam nawet palca nie wystawiać poza tę granicę.

Definitely had some major pacing issues, which is usually a rarity in Trudi canavan's novels. The magic didn't seem to have the same allure that other fantasy systems have, and the constant jumping between worlds was disconcerting. However the two main povs are great, and the last quarter of the book really done a good job with setting up a promising future.

Not bad, although fairly slow. There's a lot of emphasis on plot and a lot less on character building, so it feels like some of the actions of characters are strongmanned into occurring, rather than fluid expressions of their personalities and actual decisions the characters would make.

Während Rielles Storyline noch halbwegs interessant weiter geht, besteht Tyens nur noch aus Reisen, strategischen Überlegungen und Intrigen. Und leider verschenkt Canavan hier jede Menge Möglichkeiten spannender Geschichten, weil sie immer wieder andere Abzweigungen geht, immer wieder von wirklich interessanten Ereignissen weg hin zum ewig Gleichen oder zu dem schlecht schlechteren Ausweg geht.

Ich ärgere mich jetzt echt, den dritten Band schon zu besitzen und hab keine Ahnung, ob ich die Reihe weiterlesen will. Erst recht, da sie jetzt auch noch einen vierten Band angekündigt hat und nicht mal sicher ist, ob das der Letzte sein wird.
