Rich and brittle. A whole cast of characters and plots swirling around, like bodies in the Thames. Lots of those too. Not a nice time to be a woman, no matter how tough or smart you are. Compelling to read. Relieved to be finished though. Good dogs.

Some of the characters were loathsome, and that feeling it gave me when reading about them signifies it was quite well written!
And there were other redeemable characters that made the reading bearable to enjoyable.
I enjoyed the way it was pieced together from various perspectives and built depth to characters (not just telling a story bit painting the feelings of the story, too.
