I didn't have many expectations when I first got this book. The author really knows how to mess with your head. I mean I found myself really liking and feeling for Gemma kidnapper Ty. Its so odd because I wanted so bad to dislike him for taking Gemma to the freaking middle of nowhere and just expecting her to want to stay with him forever because he feels he saved her. As I kept reading and finding out more about him I started feeling a bit bad for him and I thought that it would not be bad for Gemma to stay with Ty forever. I could tell that he really loved her. I really enjoyed Gemma as a main character. How she fought to get away from him and even her own feelings about him in general.
Overall I enjoyed the book and I do recommend it.

This book is definitely not what I was expecting!!

I've watched documentaries and dramas about Stockholm Syndrome and kidnap victims so I thought that this book was going to follow that narrative.

However, it was a very different take for me! Ty isn't what would be considered a 'typical kidnapper or maniac' (a sentence I never thought I'd say) so as a reader, it made you feel very undecided about what box he fit into. - Obviously not saying he was a good person, he was definitely not!! Just that the normal for someone capable of doing something like that wasn't applicable to him in all instances.

You find yourself relating to the main character a lot in the sense of not knowing what side of him to believe and the intensity of their situation.

It was tense, suspenseful and I had to double check halfway through reading that it was fiction and not a real story which shows how talented Lucy Christopher is! I also loved the way that it was written, a letter to her kidnapper, it offered a window into a deeper side of the story.

I did find that it dipped in certain parts but the first half and especially the last half, I couldn't put it down!!

Such an awesome read! It kept me intrigued the entire time and I loved the way that it was written.

This book was absolutely wonderful and filled with so much raw emotion. The characters were unpredictable and I really enjoyed their story. I was definitely attached to this book completely by the middle and the end had me in tears. The plot was intriguing and chilling and the writing was perfect. I really loved how this was told in a letter because it made it so realistic. I would highly recommend this!

There were some scenes that I absolutely love, they were suspenseful or alluring, like when Gemma and Ty watched the painting on the walls as the sun set or slept under the stars, but not all the book was able to hold my attention so well and I got bored like something was missing.

I’ve never read anything like this before, my emotions are all over the place.
I couldn’t put it down and had to finish in one setting.
It was amazing I loved it so much.

my first book swap with W. mixed feelings, but no doubt good.

2.5, it wasn’t necessarily a bad book, I think the author created a great story and how she tricked the reader into Stockholm syndrome towards the end was smart. I thought the reactions and how everything played out seemed realistic in the sense of how a 16 year old girl would react in a situation like this, the only thing was that it wasn’t for me. I didn’t really enjoy reading it that much. I was sucked in the beginning due to the suspense but it kind of went downhill for me and I got really bored, but that’s only because it wasn’t my type of book. I don’t think it was a bad book, I thought it had a good storyline, just wasn’t my cup of tea.
